Lucy E. (Davis) Wolfe

Lucy E. (Davis) Wolfe, 95, of Chillicothe, went to be with our Lord on March 29, 2018 at Berger Hospital. She was born on March 1, 1923, in Pickaway County, the daughter of the late Pearley and Dessie (Detillion) Davis. On December 24, 1948, she was united in marriage with her loving husband, Ralph D. Wolfe, who preceded her in death on October 13, 1988.

Lucy is survived by her niece, Polly Cramer, of Cincinnati; nephew, Gail Wolfe, of Circleville; special cousins, Michael (Gina) Davis, and Jenna (Kevin) Blackburn, and their daughter, Elaynna, all of Chillicothe, and faithful friends, Bob and Mark Gray, Dean and Janet Good, Roger Graves, and her entire church family.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lucy was preceded in death by her sister, Audrey (Davis) Smith; and nephew, Howard.

In 1962, after 20 years as a secretary of Centralia, she started to work in the Auditing Dept at the Ohio Dept of Transportation and retired in 1983 after 21 years at ODOT. She was a lifelong member of Crouse Chapel United Methodist Church. Lucy’s longtime goal was to enjoy reaching her 95th birthday; a proud achievement she accomplished earlier this month.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 4 at 3:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Rev. Barry Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 – 7 p.m. at Hill’s. Memorial contributions may be made in Lucy’s honor to the Crouse Chapel United Methodist Church (795 Crouse Chapel Rd, Chillicothe, OH 45601). Condolences can be made on Lucy’s online guest registry at www.hillfhkingston.com.

A Dear friend since 1974, Lucy and I rode to work together at ODOT
until her retirement, in all that time we never had a bad word. Lucy and her late husband Ralph were like family to my wife, Betty, and I.
She will be sorely missed. I love you, and God be with you Lucy.
Roger Graves, and late wife Betty

This is late since my sister, June Ginther, of Chillicothe sent me the obituary. Lucy and I grew up together going to Crouse Chapel and graduated from Centralia together after 12 years at the same school. I left for college that fall but we stayed friends over the years. I last saw her about three years ago when i stopped in to see her. We laughed about who would last the longest. She was a good friend and I miss her. Mr Hill was my scout master in Kinston when he started the home. I helped at a few funerals and was in the troop.
