Kay Laverne (Fellenstein) Large
Kay Laverne (Fellenstein) Large, 82, of Kingston, entered into Heaven peacefully on April 13, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family following an extended illness. She was born on December 8, 1941, in Williamsport, the daughter of the late Noah Charles and Alice Mae (Mowery) Fellenstein. On August 29, 1959, she united in marriage with her loving husband, Lawrence Raymond Large, who preceded her in death on October 24, 2014.
Kay is survived by her daughters, Karen Louise (Scott) Chenault and Janet Lynn (Mark) O’Shaughnessy; grandchildren, Hannah Elizabeth (Katy) Beach and Sydney Lynn (Isaiah) Hackney; great-granddaughter, Lainey Louise Beach; sister, Anna Lee Swackhammer; sister-in-law, Susanne Fellenstein; several special in-laws from the Large family; special friend, Brooke Lynn McNeal; and numerous other special family members and friends whom she cherished.
In addition to her parents and husband, Kay was preceded in death by her siblings, Noah Eugene Fellenstein, Garnett Mae Taylor, and Lida Kathryn Meadows; brothers-in-law, Evan Roy Taylor, Leroy L. Swackhammer, and William A. Meadows; and several special in-laws from the Large family.
Kay was a 1959 graduate of Kingston-Union High School and worked for a time at Kingston National Bank. She was a devoted member of Springbank United Methodist Church, a member of the Springbank United Methodist Church Women’s Group and a member of the American Legion Post 291 Ladies Auxiliary of Kingston.
The family would like to sincerely thank Adena Hospice, especially, Carla and Jess, and special caregivers, Angie Kennedy, Delaney Carter Tittle, Beth Carter, and Karen Castle for their dedicated care of Kay during her illness.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Springbank United Methodist Church (23871 OH 104, Chillicothe, OH 45601) with Rev. Jim Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Springbank Cemetery, Chillicothe. The family will receive friends Friday from 4 - 7 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston and Saturday from 10 - 11 a.m. at the church.
