Walter Monroe Murphy
Walter Monroe Murphy, 61, of Laurelville, passed away on December 31, 2022 at Grant Medical Center, Columbus, following a brief illness. He was born on July 27, 1961, in Chillicothe, the son of the late Robert Murphy and F. Arlene (Butcher) Green.
Walter is survived by his sisters, Carey “Sissy” (David) McMasters and Sharon Neace; girlfriend, Nina Roshon Harper; step-children, Chris Baker (Emily Leaker), Dusty Krathwohl (Lily Hartzell), and Dezarae Krathwohl (Jahred Carroll); step-grandchildren, Jazilyn and Ellianna Baker, Octavia Harper, and Kia and Oaklee Krathwohl; aunts, Jo Ann “Jody” Estep and Mary Chaffin; canine companion, Hank; and numerous other special family members and friends whom he cherished.
In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his siblings, Robert “Bobby” Murphy and infant, Bobby; uncles, Walter E. Murphy, Lester E. Murphy, Homer H. Murphy, Carroll “Tike” Chaffin, and James “Benny” Butcher; step-parents, Pat Murphy and Glenn Green; beloved paternal grandmother, Gladys “Granny” Murphy; and beloved maternal grandfather, William Clyde Butcher.
Walter proudly served his country in the United States Navy and worked as an auto body mechanic for Sommers Autobody in Chillicothe for many years.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 7 at 5:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston, with Rev. Greg Gardner officiating.
