Ruth Ann (Delong) Jones

    Ruth Ann (Delong) Jones, 84, of Kingston, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2022 at Wyngate Senior Living, Circleville. Ruth was born on March 3, 1939, in Kingston, the daughter of the late Wayne Charles and Nina (Hartsock) Delong. On October 13, 1957, she united in marriage with her loving husband of almost 65 years, Fred A. Jones, who preceded her in death on May 12, 2022. 

    Ruth is survived by her beloved sons, Fred (Jodie) Jones and Craig (Tammy) Jones, both of Kingston; grandchildren, Kyle (Amy) Jones, of Circleville, Emily (Russell) Hainline, of Los Angeles, California, McKenzie Jones, Nicholas (Shelby) Jones, Benjamin Jones, Allison Jones, and Lucas Jones, all of Kingston; great-grandchildren, Emmett and Vivian Jones and Brynlea Elizabeth and Jayce Daniel Jones; brother, Richard (Beth) Delong; sister, Janet (Fred) Duve; sister-in-law, Nancy Walker, of Chillicothe; brothers-in-law, George (Rosemary) Targee, of Boise, Idaho, and Phil (Linda) Targee, of Sarasota, Florida; and numerous other special family members and friends whom she cherished.  

       Ruth graduated from Kingston High School as the Valedictorian of her class in 1957. In her youth, she participated in 4-H for 10 years. She enjoyed traveling and her monthly Bingo group. She also loved supporting and watching local high school sporting events, especially those of her children and grandchildren.    

    Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Chaplain Sue Duve officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Kingston. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 - 7 p.m. at Hill’s. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ruth’s honor to Logan Elm Athletic Boosters (9575 Tarlton Road, Circleville, OH 43113) or Zane Trace Athletic Boosters (946 OH-180, Chillicothe, OH 45601).
