Robert L. Detillion

     The Heavenly Father called the name of Robert L. Detillion on May 26, 2021 after ten years of enduring blood cancer. He was born on April 27, 1943 to Roy W. and Ruth I. (Peecher) Detillion. He married Barbara S. Bower on October 27, 1995, who has been his soul mate and Godly loving caregiver who survives him.

     Also surviving are three terrific children; daughter, Lisa P. Bader, of Rapid City, South Dakota; son, Robert A. (Shelly) Detillion, of Chillicothe; daughter, Amy (Bill) Letts, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Jo Ellen Rhoads, Thayne Bader, Skyler Elliott, Robert B. and Korbin P. Detillion, with whom he had a special bond; great-granddaughters, Penelope K. Rose Elliott and Preslie Grace Haley; great-grandson, Paxton Reid Micheal Haley; brother, Jerry (Karen) Detillian; sister, Marilyn S. (Robert) Hatfield; nieces and nephews; merged children, Steve (Tonya) McQuaide, of Killeen, Texas, Cindy (Jerry) Carver, of Chillicothe; and merged grandchildren, Alexis and Ava McQuaide, Ashton and Dylan Carver, Brittny (Aaron) Sidorenko, of Columbus, Tanner Tornberg, of Chillicothe and Sadie and Josie Tornberg, of South Dakota.

     Bob was predeceased by his parents; daughter, JoEllen Detillion; brother, William O. Detillion and nephew, Randy Detillion.

     He retired as a certified welder from Mead-Chilpaco on July 1, 2002 with over 40 years service and member of Local 988. He was also a Life Patron member of the NRA and life member of the Harley Owners Group. He was a contributor to the Wycliffe Bible Translation; The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews as a Patriarch member and a Cancer Care giver along with Legacy Partner Program with John Hagee Ministries.

     Extended thanks to the wonderful people at Adena Cancer Center, Dr. Krishnan, many other staff members and nurses who cared for him, and also to Adena Hospice and their care givers.

     Bob was very dedicated to serving the Lord Jesus Christ with a desire for others to find eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ since his conversion November 4, 2002.  He was a member of Hilltop mission Church for several years and most recently a member of Salt Creek Valley Community Church in fellowship with her wonderful people.

    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 29 at 11:00 a.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston, with Pastor Aaron Satterfield officiating for his joyful entry into the everlasting life promised to those who endure unto the end. Burial will follow in the Hallsville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 - 7 p.m. at Hill’s.
