Norma Jean (Valentine) Viney
Norma Jean (Valentine) Viney, 96, of Kingston, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Norma was born on August 18, 1925, in Kingston, the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Caroline P. (Brown) Valentine Sr.. In 1948, she married William H. Viney Jr. who preceded Norma in death on September 24, 1970. They shared 22 years together.
Norma is survived by her four children, William H. (Tina) Viney III, James M. (Lynn) Viney, Norma J. “Jeannie” (Levi) Gause, and Paul A. Viney; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other special family members and friends whom she cherished.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her daughter, Joya S. Watson, and siblings, Benjamin F. Valentine Jr., James W. Valentine, Phillip E. Valentine, Emma Nelson, and infant, Nancy Valentine.
Norma was a 1943 graduate of Centralia High School and retired from General Electric. She also worked at Wright Patterson Air Base as a typist for the Army Air Corp. She enjoyed reading all kinds of books, completing the Jumble in the daily paper, and, most of all, she loved her family and enjoyed being with them.
Following her wishes, cremation has taken place. There are no services scheduled at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston. Condolences can be made on Norma’s online guest registry at www.hillfhkingston.com.
