Nancy Ellen (Carpenter) Truman
Nancy Ellen (Carpenter) Truman, 82, of Chillicothe, Ohio, peacefully fell asleep in death on June 13, 2023, surrounded by her children. She was born on April 9, 1941, in McArthur, Ohio, the daughter to the late Sylvia (Wachenschwanz) and Rothbe Carpenter. On July 17th, 1959, she was united in marriage with her loving husband and best friend, Earl L. Truman, Sr., who preceded her in death after 61 years of marriage.
Nancy is survived by her children, Earl L. (Cindy) Truman of Vine Grove, Kentucky; Cathy (Randy) Briggs of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Ruth (Jon) Miller of Columbus, Ohio; Clara (Michael) Brown of Chillicothe, Ohio; and Mark (Jessica) Truman of Logan, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; brothers James Carpenter, Herbie Carpenter, Russel (Irene) Carpenter; sisters-in-law Jane Barnes, Janet (Paul) Robb; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by an infant son, Gregory A. Truman; granddaughter Amanda E. Briggs; great-grandson Nicholas Holzer; son-in-law Christopher (Clara) Bare; sister Anna Young; two brothers and their wives, Robert (Agnes) Carpenter, and Larry (Karen) Carpenter.
Nancy was baptized on February 7, 1981, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and a member of the Circleville, Ohio congregation. She was faithful to her God, Jehovah, and looked forward to the future promises for the earth to be fulfilled.
The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Violette for his care over the years, Logan Elm Health Care, and ProMedica Hospice Care (especially Shannon and Randy), for the wonderful care she received during her short time there.
Nancy will be sadly missed by her family and friends. A Memorial service is planned for July 29th, 2023 at 2:30 P.M. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Circleville, Ohio 43113.
