Michael Joe Congrove
Michael Joe Congrove, 64, of Kingston, passed away on June 11, 2022 unexpectedly. He was born December 1, 1957, in Chillicothe, the son of Billy Joe and Patty (Lunsford) Congrove, who survive.
In addition to his parents, Mike is survived by his children, Julie (BJ) Bass, David Congrove, and Bradley Congrove; sister, Linda Congrove; aunts and uncles, Eldon “Buck” (Joyce) Congrove, Roy (Alice) Congrove, Joyce Bivens, Dean Congrove, all local residents, and Wilma Boyd, of Naples, Florida; and numerous other special family members and friends whom he cherished.
Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eldon Congrove and Isabel Congrove Campbell and Harrison and Carrie Lunsford; special cousins, Dan Congrove and Roy A. Congrove; and aunts and uncles, Orville and Jean Lunsford, Millie and Dick Wise, Fay and Bob Widholm, Bill Boyd, William "Jake" and Mary Lunsford, and Jack and Karen Lunsford.
Mike was a 1976 graduate of Zane Trace High School and retired from DuPont, Circleville, after almost four decades of service. Mike’s passion was his family. He was a wonderful son, brother, and father. He gave loving and devoted care to his parents Patty and Billy Joe. He visited them multiple times every day and he and his dad spent countless hours sitting on the front porch visiting and watching the sunset. Mike was well known for his kind nature and generosity. He never met a stranger. Friends and family knew they could count on Mike for anything. He enjoyed trucking and loved his old Kenworth and Western Star. He also loved watching dirt track racing and baseball with his kids. He loved his Beagle, Joey.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 17 at 11:00 a.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Rev. Barry Bennett and Pastor James Vandagriff presiding. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Kingston. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3 - 7 p.m. at Hill’s. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mike’s honor to The Shriners Children’s Hospital
