Karen Sue (Evans) McCord
Karen S. (Evans) McCord, 69, of Chillicothe, passed away unexpectedly February 8, 2022 at Adena Health System.
She was born August 25, 1952, in Chillicothe, to the late Ralph Weldon Evans and Patty (Chaffin) Davis. Karen was a 1971 graduate of Zane Trace High School. She was employed for 35 years at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center. On September 24, 2002, she married the love of her life, Aaron.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Keith Bobo and Aaron McCord; brother, David Evans; and niece, Amy Diehl.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Brad) Simpson, Chillicothe; son Adam Bobo, Chillicothe; grandchildren, Natalie Majors (Autumn) and Brandon Simpson (Melissa); great grandchildren, Makoto and Azriella; step-father, Charles Davis, Kingston: brother, Keith Evans, Chillicothe; sisters, Vicki (Dave) Diehl, Circleville, and Kae (George) Diehl, Kingston; nieces, Amy Tooill, Angie Thomas, Beth Montgomery; nephews, Andy Diehl, George Diehl, Jr., Patrick Diehl, Matthew Diehl, Charlie Evans and Joseph Evans; several grandnieces and grandnephews; and numerous other special family members and friends whom she cherished.
She was a breast cancer survivor. Karen was a member of the American Legion Post 62, Amvets Post 4, Navy Petty Officer’s Club and a 30-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 600. She cherished the time she spent with friends at all the organizations she was a member. Karen also loved shopping, NASCAR, the Buckeyes and line dancing. We will always remember her infectious laugh. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 16 at 2:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston, with Rev. Barry Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the Hallsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 15 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 p.m. at Hill’s.
