John Sanford Williams
John Sanford Williams, 82, of Chillicothe, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2021 at Adena Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 25, 1938, in Magoffin County, Kentucky, the son of the late Lonnie and Lexie (Hill) Williams. On October 15, 1960, he united in marriage with his loving wife of 61 years, Rosemarie (Petzshe) Williams, who survives.
John is also survived by his beloved children, Sonja Williams and John Williams Jr.; grandchildren, Stacie Bussey and Kimberly Carter; great-grandchildren, Annaleigh Bussey and Remmington Bussey; and numerous other special family members and friends whom loved and appreciated his generous heart.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his siblings, James Williams, Peg Williams, and Danny Williams.
John was a member of the 1957 graduating class of Centralia High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Hallsville Community United Methodist Church and spent his career working in maintenance and was ultimately self-employed. John was a hardworking provider for his family and the highlight of his life was to love and spend time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. John’s generous nature was evident by him always putting everyone before himself and extending a helping hand to anyone in need. He never complained of any of the sufferings he experienced during his illness. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 7 at 1:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Pastor Greg Gardner officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Hill’s. Burial will take place in Bethel Cemetery. Covid-19 precautions will be observed.
