John Ross Gillow
John Ross Gillow, 74, of Chillicothe, entered into Heaven on September 21, 2021 at Adena Regional Medical Center unexpectedly. He was born on September 30, 1946, in Callicoon, New York, the son of the late Lee and Naomi Inez (Keesler) Gillow. On June 6, 1971, he united in marriage with his loving wife of 50 years, Karen (Skellett) Gillow, who survives.
John is also survived by his beloved son, Jason Ross (Udsanee (Naikham)) Gillow; grandchildren, Fiona Naomi Gillow, Leona Mae Gillow, and Jasmine Rose Gillow; brother, Daniel (JoAnn) Gillow; sisters, Ellen (Robert) Stanton, Thelma Tyler, Lela (Cecil) Buchanan, and Clara (Stephen) Jennings; mother-in-law, Mae Skellett; and numerous other special family members and friends whom he cherished.
In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his sister, Jenny Wilson.
John proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. Jesus was his Lord and Savior. John was a great craftsman and hobbiest. John was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed dearly.
Private graveside services with military honors will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Kingston, with Rev. Greg Gardner and Rev. James Pollard officiating. Services have been entrusted to the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John’s honor to Hallsville Community United Methodist Church (Faith and Future Fund: 8585 State Route 180, Kingston, OH 45644).
