Jayne Ann (Mader) Cook
Jayne Ann (Mader) Cook, 73, of Chillicothe, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2021 at OSU Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 18, 1948, in Portsmouth, the daughter of the late Marion and Helen (Lutz) Mader.
Jayne is survived by her children, Jeff (Debbie) Geno, of Chillicothe, Amy (Tim) Lacey, of South Portsmouth, Kentucky, Corey Frazier, of Wooster, Bambi (Mike) DeMeo, of Florida, and Candi Cook, of Worthington; grandchildren, Michal (Taylor) Conrad, J. Morgan (David) York, Jake Geno, Brandon (Laura) Lacey, Jennifer Geno, Alexandria (Rodney) Lambert, Ashton Lacey, Haley McKenzie, and James Curtis Frazier; five great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; four step grandsons; adopted daughters, Amy Jane Simmons and Natasha Geno; several wonderful nieces and nephews; and numerous other special family members and friends whom she cherished.
In addition to her parents, Jayne was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Cook, and siblings, Joe Mader and Jennifer “Pixie” Eldridge.
Jayne graduated from Clay High School, in Portsmouth, Class of 1966 and worked as a hospital phlebotomist in Portsmouth and a school aid while living in South Carolina and Florida. She attended Harvest Center Church and was a devoted supporter and volunteer at Crossing Community Center, Chillicothe.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 11 at 2:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston, with Pastor John Hocker officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Kingston. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from noon until the time of the service at Hill’s. The family encourages visitors to wear facial coverings.
