Obituary

Hope Bettina (Evans) Miller

Hope Bettina (Evans) Miller, 82, of Chillicothe, entered into Heaven on July 23, 2023. She was born on February 27, 1941, in Chillicothe, the daughter of the late Ralph Lawrence and Susan Irene (Hixon) Evans. On May 22, 1959, she united in marriage with her loving husband of 49 years, Emmitt Merle Miller, who preceded her in death on September 9, 2008. He was the love of her life since she was 15 years old.

She is survived by her beloved children, Kimberly L. (Jim) Miller-Davis, Michael A. (Beth) Miller, and Andrea S. (Shawn) Davis; grandchildren, James A. (Haley) Stangle II, Christopher M. (Ivi) Stangle, Seth P. (Brooke) Miller, Geoffrey M. (Laura) Miller, and Taylor (Alex) Reid; great-grandchildren, Kyntara, Gabrielle, Kaydalyn, Haleigh, Camden, Keegan, Meilah, Malia, Bentlei, Knox, Ryleigh, Boone, Kye, and Koe; nieces and nephews, Vicki (Dave) Diehl, Keith Evans, Myron Miller, Regina (Rodney) Virgin, Marina (Ronald) Chapman, and Kae (George) Diehl; beloved canine companion, Luna Belle; and numerous other special family members and friends whom she cherished.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Ralph W. Evans; brother-in-laws, Robert Miller and Charles Miller; sister-in-laws, Patty Davis and Lillie Miller; niece, Karen McCord; and nephews, David Evans and Tony Miller.

Hope was a 1959 graduate of Centralia High School. She excelled working for various companies in sales over the years including Sarah Coventry Jewelry (where she was in the million dollar club), Celebrity Jewelry, and Koscot Cosmetics. Hope was a selfless person who enjoyed giving to others. She taught this value to her children at a young age by distributing goody baskets as a family to people in need. She enjoyed traveling and visited nearly every state in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Eastern and Western Caribbean. She loved the outdoors, including rose gardens, lilies, iris’ and peonies, going mushroom hunting and blackberry picking, cooking and baking, and the Christmas season. She had a heart of gold and will be truly missed.

Our family would like to thank Adena Regional Medical Center, Life Flight, OSU Medical Center, Dodd Hall, National Church Residences, Caring Touch Nursing Home, Home Helpers of Chillicothe and Lancaster, and Meadow Grove Transitional Care for their skilled and dedicated care of Hope throughout her illness and rehabilitation.
