Herbert William Coey
Herbert William Coey, 73, of Kingston, was embraced by God on June 12, 2021 at the James Cancer Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was born in Chillicothe on July 28, 1947 to the late Vernie and Anna Price Coey.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie, their two sons, Brian (Dan) Coey and Trent (Melissa) Coey, and his siblings, Dorie (Thurman) Speakman and Lloyd (Holly). He also has many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Bertha Wilson, and a brother, Forest “Eddie” Coey.
He was a decorated veteran who served in the US Airforce during the Vietnam war. After leaving the military, he took pride in his accomplishments as a construction superintendent of major companies in Ohio and across the United States.
Herb enjoyed spending his summers fishing and lobstering with his family in Maine. He found happiness in rebuilding the camp and enjoying the beautiful ocean views. In later years, he found comfort and joy in wood carving and caning antique chairs. He was an avid Buckeye fan who enjoyed both watching and attending games with his son, Trent. He enjoyed attending Broadway shows and concerts with his son, Brian. He has provided numerous hunting memories that will be shared for generations to come, such as his disposition for shooting “really big” deer.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 18 at 2:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston, with Rev.
