Dorothy Louise (Nungester) Roe

    Dorothy Louise (Nungester) Roe, 77, of Laurelville, entered into Heaven on May 4, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 24, 1943, in Laurelville, the daughter of the late Albert and Flora (Schwalbach) Nungester. On November 16, 1962, she united in marriage with her loving husband of 54 years, Donald Eugene Roe, who preceded her in death on November 25, 2016.

    Dorothy is survived by her loving daughters, Melisa (Todd) Roach, of Laurelville, Jeanette (James Gilliland) Roe, of Jackson, and Pamela (Matthew) Hayes, of Laurelville; grandchildren, Jennifer (Rodney) Taylor, Ashley (Devin) Walters, Ryan (Katlin) Sickles, Joshua (Gabrielle) Hayes, Nickilas Hayes, and Marissa Gilliland, Brandon Gilliland, and Anna (Nikki) Gilliland; great grandchildren, James Wagner, Logan Doles, Chase Walters, Liam Wagner, R.J. Sickles, Owen Walters, J.J. McGeary, Emmry Gilliland, Journeigh Gilliland, Bryson Sickles, Arabella Gilliland, and Allyson Gilliland; sisters, Martha Hutchison, of Londonderry, and Norma Poling, of Amanda; and numerous other special family members and friends whom she cherished.

    In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her siblings, Clarence, Harold, Fred, Charles, and Roy Nungester, Mary Russell, Mildred Kelly, and Georgia Collier; and great-grandchild, Jason Doles.

    Dorothy was a 1962 graduate of Allensville High School. Dorothy was a longtime, active member of Pleasant Hill Community Church, dedicating herself to the growth and development of the church including her passion of directing the annual Christmas program. She loved gardening in her flower beds, canning, going to church, listening to Betty Jean Robinson and was known for her world famous deviled eggs. Dorothy was a caring wife and mother, dedicating her life to caring for family and loved ones.        

    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 8 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Hill Community Church (15290 OH-327, Laurelville, OH 43135) with Pastor Cliff Harber officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Laurelville. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 - 7 p.m. the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston and an hour prior to the service Saturday at the church with visitors maintaining social distancing and wearing face coverings.
