Dennis James Burdett

    Dennis James Burdett, 60, of Kingston, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving children after an extended illness. He was born on July 5, 1959, in Columbus, the son of the late Charles William and Dolores (Bolin) Burdett. On October 3, 1982, he united in marriage with the love of his life, Mary Elizabeth (Collins) Burdett, who preceded him in death in 2002.

    Dennis is survived by his children, Rebecca (Trey) Cyrus, Brian Burdett, and Kelly (Nathan) Dempsey; beloved papaw to,  Mason, Lane, and Gannon Cyrus, and Elizabeth, Payton, and Evan Burdett; siblings, Donald (Susan) Burdett, David (Diane) Burdett, Cheryl (Mike) McArtor, and Carol (Steve) Spaulding; mother-in-law, Dorothy Collins; brother and sisters-in-law, Bill (Fannie) Collins, Nancy Mulhern, Vivian (Jr) Sperry, and Marlena Fout; special cousin and buddy, Chris Burdett; and numerous other special family members and friends whom he cherished.

   In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his father-in-law, William Harry Collins; and brothers-in-law, Terry Fout and Harold Mulhern.

    Dennis was a 1977 graduate of Westerville South High School. He worked as a printer at RR Donnelley and was always known for his strong work ethic. Although he thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching Ohio State and Cleveland Browns, Dennis’ family and grandchildren was always his first priority and favorite pasttime.

    A private funeral service will be held on Friday, April 24 at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston. There will be no public calling hours. A graveside service will take place on Friday, April 24 at 3:00 p.m. at Hallsville Cemetery with Rev. Steve North officiating.
