Charles Wesley Pritchard Jr.
Charles Wesley Pritchard Jr., 84, of Circleville, closed the final chapter of his earthly life on August 31, 2023. Chuck was surrounded by his loved ones on the family farm.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Alice; his sisters, Marjorie (George) Heckler and Donna (John) Karshner; and brother, David (Sandy) Pritchard. Left with loving memories are his devoted wife of 63 years, Sharon; children, Lori (Nate) and Charles Matthew (Amy) Pritchard; and his five grandchildren, who were the joy of his life, Alyvia (Scott) Posthumus, Cole Clark, Colin Clark, Carly (Alex) Meyer, and Claire Pritchard. He loved and appreciated his in-laws, Michael and Linda Kempton and Jeff and Pam Whitcraft.
A graduate of Laurelville High School, he pursued his love of basketball and graduated from Wilmington College where he was honored as the most valuable player on the Quaker basketball team. He received his Master’s degree from Xavier University.
His dream of coaching basketball was realized with years at Corning, Huntington, and Logan Elm High Schools. He retired from education after 35 years, having also been an elementary principal at Salt Creek and Washington. A man who liked challenges, he served as the Washington Township Clerk and Pickaway County Commissioner.
Charles was a member of Pontious United Methodist Church for many years. He also attended Circleville First Church and was an active member of the Gideons.
He loved working with young people, and the influence he had on his players and students was evidenced when many of them visited him during his illness. A blessing to all who knew and loved him, Charles will remain forever in their hearts.
The family would like to thank Fairhope Hospice for the compassionate and loving care Chuck received during his illness.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Pastor Mike Holbrook officiating.
