Brian Dale Speakman
Brian Dale Speakman, 56, of Laurelville, passed away unexpectedly on April 14, 2024 at his residence. He was born on July 28, 1967, in Circleville, the son of the late Melvin Speakman and Judith (Seymour) Leming, who survives.
Brian is also survived by his beloved daughters, Kayla (Christopher) Burris and Alexis Ann (John) Turner; one special granddaughter on the way; siblings, Becky McKown, Michael Speakman, Jane (Michael) Moore, Crystal Speakman Howard, and Kirby Smith; uncles and aunts, Joe (Marsha) Speakman, Herb (Patricia) Speakman, Judy (Frank) Raymond, Sharon (Ronnie) Harper, and Dave Seymour; special nieces and nephews who knew him as “Uncle Bubby,” Amber, Kyle, Kyrie, Jennifer, Landry, and Levi; longtime friend and mother of his children, Betty Speakman; and numerous other special family members and friends whom he cherished.
In addition to his father, Brian was predeceased by his son, Benjamin Schwalbauch; step-father, James Leming; grandmother, Mary Jane Seymour; uncle, Pete Speakman; and aunts, Donna Huston and Sherry Seymour.
Brian was a 1986 graduate of Crooksville High School and attended Muskingum Technical Career Center. He worked for Toxco, Inc. for many years working with industrial batteries. Brian was an avid outdoorsman who thoroughly enjoyed fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, and dirt track racing. He will be remembered as a devoted family man who made family time a priority and who instilled important life lessons and skills to his daughters and nieces and nephews. One of his most treasured times was taking his girls and nieces and nephews on fishing trips to Canada. He will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Pastor Jay Neff officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Laurelville.
