Arthur “Jim” Rice

    Arthur “Jim” Rice, 89, of Hallsville, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 18, 1933, in Wellston, the son of the late Arthur Raymond and Twyla Yvonne (McClain) Rice. On July 25, 1992, he united in marriage with his loving wife of 30 years, Teresa (McQuaide) Rice, who survives.

    Jim is also survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Tim) Woltz; grandchildren, Ashley Woltz and Brady Woltz; great-grandchildren, Liam Rucker, Abram Ruggles, and Izzy Ruggles; and numerous other special family members and friends whom he cherished.

    In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his son, Barry Rice; and brother, Bill Rice.

    Jim was a member of the 1951 graduating class of Wilbur Wright High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Era. Jim was a member of the Logan Elm Masonic Lodge #624, Kingston. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, porch sitting, bird watching, and antique cars.

    The family would like to sincerely thank Adena Hospice and special caregiver, Jessica, for all of the care and support given to Jim throughout his illness.

   Military graveside services will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in Hallsville Cemetery with Robert Phalen officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Ross County Veteran’s Honor Guard. Arrangements have been entrusted to the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston.
