Obituary

Willard R. "Pete" Wiseman Willard R. "Pete" Wiseman, 84, of Circleville, Ohio, entered into Heaven January 6, 2014 following a brief stay at Berger Hospital.  He was born April 19, 1929, in Charleston, West Virginia, to the late James Carl Wiseman and Beulah Blanche Cox. Pete was a dedicated family man who simply loved life and loved people.  Growing up, Pete became the father figure in his family when his Dad died at an early age.  He served that position well. He began his work career working at Doc Kennedy's Farm followed by Gunnoe's Sausage Company.  In 1964, his family was transferred from Charleston, W.Va. to Circleville, Ohio with the Owens-Illinois Company where Pete worked for 42 years.  Pete retired in 1994.  Pete was a lifetime member of the Circleville AMVETS and a member of the Pontious United Methodist Church, Circleville. A veteran of the Korean War, Pete proudly served in Germany as an Army sergeant from 1951-53. In 1953, he married the love of his life, Janice S. Snyder.  The two were blessed with 60 years together, a fact Pete often spoke of proudly. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Pete is survived by his wife, two children; Ralph (Lois) Wiseman, of Kingston, and Debbie (Dennis) Shaw, of Circleville; four grandchildren, Jason (Lisa) Wiseman, of Kingston, Jennifer (Barry) Petty, of Circleville, Josh (Sarah) Shaw, of Batavia, and Justin (Ashley) Wiseman, of Adelphi; six great-grandchildren, Kimberly and Bret Petty, Savannah and Micah Shaw, Leah Wiseman, and Madelyn Wiseman; sister, E. Marie Bostic, and sister-in-laws, Patricia Stone, Mary Deck, and brother-in-law, Curtis Snyder, all of West Virginia. He was preceded in death by a brother, James C. Wiseman, who passed this same day in 1977. Pete was also predeceased by his parents and nephew, James B. Wiseman. His lifetime of dedication and self-sacrifice serve as a monument to the exemplary man he was.  His love of life, integrity, and hard work continue to inspire those who knew him. Funeral Services will be Friday, January 10, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, 24 West Ing St., in Kingston, Ohio 45644.  Rev. John Ash, Rev. Jim Ferrell and Rev. Barry Bennett will be officiating the service.  Burial will take place at the Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery with military honors immediately after the service.  Viewing hours will be at the funeral home on Thursday, January 9, from 2-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Pete's name to Berger Hospice, 600 N. Pickaway St., Circleville, Ohio 43113, and Pontious United Methodist Church, 7218 Stoutsville Pike, Circleville, OH 43113.  Driving directions and an online registry is available at the Hill Funeral Home website at hillfhkingston.com.
