Wallace H. Bethel
Wallace H. Bethel, 78, of Kingston, entered into Heaven on November 30, 2023 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born on December 4, 1944, in Laurelville, the son of the late Everett and Leona Ferne (Routte) Bethel. On January 21, 1969, he united in marriage with his loving wife of 52 years, Wanda D. (Lowery) Bethel, who preceded him in death on November 16, 2021.
Wallace is survived by his special nieces and nephews, Joe (Diane) Bethel, Wendy (Larry) Davis, Tyke (Teresa) Lowery, Makayla (Dave) Adams, Savanna (Cole) Fyffe, Oakley Lowery, Quincey Lowery, and Nate Bethel; sisters-in-law, Debra Bethel and Sue (Larry) Unger; and numerous other special family members and friends whom he cherished.
In addition to his wife and parents, Wallace was predeceased by his brothers, Raymond Bethel, Neal Bethel, and Gary Bethel.
Wallace was a 1963 graduate of Centralia High School and attended Morehead State University. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam Conflict as a Medic in the United States Army. He was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart for his heroic service. Wallace continued his acts of service when he returned home. He was a founding member of the Whisler Fire Department and was a member of the Saltcreek-Tarlton Fire Department. He retired from Smooth Construction and was a member of the Carpenters Local Union 200.
Funeral services will be held on Wallace's birthday, Monday, December 4, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Rev. Carol Carper officiating. Burial will follow in Green Summit Cemetery with military honors provided by the Ross County Veteran's Honor Guard.
