Stella Louise (Downing) Cantrell
Stella Louise (Downing) Cantrell, 78, of South Bloomfield, entered into Heaven on August 4, 2026 after an extended illness at Circleville Post Acute Nursing Home in Circleville. She was born on June 23, 1948, in New Holland, the daughter of the late Ross Templin and Maisie Irene (Jorden) Downing.
Stella is survived by her beloved children, Richard Duncan II, Teresa (Tim) Seymour, Alonzo Cottrell Sr., and Albert (Tanya) Cottrell; former daughter-in-law, Carolyn Duncan; grandchildren, Michael (Valerie) Trego, Lisa Duncan, Richard Duncan III, Timothy (Jessica) Seymour II, Heather Butts, Brittany (Johnnie) Brown, Alonzo (Sophie) Cottrell Jr., Katrina (Clint) Ayers, Albert Cottrell Jr., Zack (Kayla) Houser, David Cottrell, and Kendra (Clinton) Minney; 30 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends whom she cherished.
In addition to her parents, Stella was predeceased by her former husband, Albert Cottrell; siblings, Roy Downing, Ross “Buddy” Downing, Mary Stone, Helen Clyne, and Reba Davis.
Stella retired from General Electric Company, of Circleville, after 30 years of faithful service. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and caregiver. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. She will be remembered for her orneriness and her love of dancing. She will be deeply missed.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Circleville Post Acute Nursing Home for the extraordinary care they provided Stella during her illness.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 10 at 1:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Pastor Dustin Neff officiating. Burial will follow in Browns Chapel Cemetery, Clarksburg. Family will receive friends for visitation on Monday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Hills.
