Shirley Ann (Hill) Cooper

Shirley Ann (Hill) Cooper, 78, of Batavia, formerly of Chillicothe, entered into Heaven on August 21, 2025 at Hospice of Cincinnati following an extended illness. She was born on March 21, 1947, in Londonderry, the daughter of Mitchell Victor Hill, who survives, and the late Wyona Mae (Sayre) Hill. On January 11, 1989, she was united in marriage with her beloved husband, John Edward Cooper, who survives.

Shirley is also survived by her children, Leah (Bryan) Davis and Chris (Cynthia) Miller, both of Chillicothe; step-daughter, Crystal (Nick) Kelly; grandchildren, Brandon (Kelly) Davis, Dr. Caleb Davis, Justin (Leah) Miller, Madison (Freddy) Cortez, and Deaven (Brandon) Atwood; step-grandchildren, Orion Norman and Nova Norman; 7 great-grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Donna Reutinger; nieces and nephew, Mike (Lisa) Reutinger, Tonya (Todd) Houser, and Tina Crow; multiple great nieces and nephews; special friends, Lucy Snell, Julie Brunner, and Harriett Search; and numerous other family members and friends whom she cherished.

Shirley was a 1965 graduate of Centralia High School and spent the majority of her professional career as a banker. She was also a talented entrepreneur, artist, and gardener. Shirley and her husband, John, were the owners of a successful garden and craft business in Batavia called English Creek Gardens for 10 years. She was a proud member of the Williamsburg Garden Club and the Woman's Art Club of Cincinnati.

Private graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 26 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Kingston, with Rev. Barry Bennett officiating.
