Obituary

Sarah Jane (Madison) Delong

Sarah Jane (Madison) Delong, 84, of Kingston, went to be with our Lord on November 30, 2016 surrounded by her family at Adena Regional Medical Center. She was born on November 2, 1932, the daughter of the late Clarence and Opal (Bryant) Madison. On August 22, 1951, she married her loving husband, Thurman E. Delong, who survives.

She is also survived by her children, Steven (Sarah) Delong, Eugene "Bub" Delong, Robert (Kellie) Delong, Pamela Sager, Marjorie (Mick) Stump, Dianna (Jamie) Jones, and Katherine (Dale) Hunt; and numerous adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, James Sager.

Sarah was a dedicated wife, mother, and worker on her family's farm. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed canning, crossword puzzles, and, most of all, spending time with her family she adored so much. She always welcomed a house full of community children into her home throughout her children's youth and, recently, especially enjoyed spending "girl's days" with her daughters in town after appointments. Sarah was also a longtime member of the Colerain United Methodist Church, Hallsville.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 4 at 2:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Rev. Gene Jividen officiating. Burial will follow in the Hallsville Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday at Hill's from 2 - 8 p.m.   Condolences can be made on Sarah's online guest registry at www.hillfhkingston.com .
