Roy Chaffin

Roy Chaffin, 78, of Kingston, passed away unexpectedly on August 25, 2024 at OSU Medical Center, Columbus, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 12, 1946, in Kingston, the son of the late Ray and Norma (Justice) Chaffin. On April 16, 1968, he united in marriage with his loving wife of 56 years, Karol K. (Kelley) Chaffin, who survives.

Roy is also survived by his beloved children, Kelley Murphy and Roy Anthony Chaffin (Adrien Braun); grandchild, Iris Murphy; one special great-grandchild expected in September, Magnus Arthur; siblings, Carolyn Kreisel, Timothy (Beth) Chaffin, Ron Chaffin, and Lois Dunn; and numerous other special family members and friends whom he cherished.

Roy attended Centralia High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He retired as a heavy equipment operator after over 25 years with the Ohio Operating Engineers Local 18. He was a member of the American Legion Post 291 and a member of the unofficial "Kingston men's morning coffee club" at the Valero and formerly, Valley Grain. Roy was very talented and had many hobbies including gardening, woodworking, bee keeping, and cutting wood.

Per Roy's wishes, there will be no visitation or services at this time. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Roy's honor to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio (711 E.
