Ronald Dean Hochheimer

Ronald Dean Hochheimer, 68, of Kingston, died of a heart attack on February 11, 2016 at Shirley Wooten's CRC Home in Hallsville, OH. He was born in Santa Monica, California on March 20, 1947, the son of the late Bill (Lester William) and Ella (Hannah Palm) Hochheimer.

An Army brat born in Santa Monica, CA; Ron lived in Yokohama, Japan; where his father was serving in the Korean War. Then on to Philadelphia, PA; Lafayette, CA and finally Newport News, VA , where he graduated from Warwick High School with Honors in Citizenship. His college days were at Christopher Newport Community College (now a University). Ronny followed his father into the U.S. Army and served his term in West Germany. He spoke German and made many friends. He grew in his Christian faith under the leadership of Jim Hettinger at Shirley's home.

Ron's passion was for classical music performance, starting this passion at age 11. He also loved jazz – the Dave Brubeck Quartet was a favorite. He performed in Veterans Administration Competitions yearly since 1982, winning or placing in most years. He was an accomplished composer who competed and was well received throughout his life in various concert competitions.

Ron is survived by an older brother, Tom (John Thomas) Hochheimer, of South Carolina, and a younger sister, Maureen (Elizabeth) Newton, of Northern Virginia. He had nephews Paul Clark, Jason Hochheimer, Dana Dekker and niece Kristina Tull – and their families.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 14 at 2 pm at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston.
