Roger Dale Thacker

Roger Dale Thacker, 76, of Kingston, passed away on May 10, 2025 at Grant Medical Center, Columbus, following an automobile accident. He was born on April 18, 1949, in Huntington, West Virginia, the son of the late Raymond Lee and Etta (Dillon) Thacker. On March 6, 1972, he was united in marriage with his beloved wife of 53 years, Jannifer (Brammer) Thacker, who survives.

Roger is also survived by his daughter, Elizabeth (Jeremy) Gearhart, of Kingston; grandchildren, Hunter Hempstead and Samantha Gearhart; sister-in-law, Lorna Thacker; niece, Shari Taynor; and numerous other family members and friends whom he cherished.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Lee Thacker Jr..

Roger was a 1967 graduate of South Point High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. Roger worked his career as a truck driver for over 40 years and retired from Walmart Distribution. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, specifically bass angler fishing. He competed in fishing tournaments across the country. He will be deeply missed.
