Robert A. Kitchen
Robert "Bob" Kitchen, 84, of Circleville, Ohio, passed away June 21, 2013 at Pickaway Manor. He was born May 25, 1929 the son of the late N. D. and Tella Donahue Kitchen. He was preceded in death by his soul mate, Wanda Self Kitchen; an infant son, Dusty Allen, sister, Mary Smith and brother, Edwin.
Robert was a man of service who early in his life chose to serve his county in the U. S. Army during the Korea War. He was honorably discharged on the 17 day of June 1960. He was a member of the Logan Elm Lodge F. & AM. # 624, 32nd Degree Mason, and lifetime member of AmVets Post # 2256. He belonged to Kingston Chapter # 411 O.E. S. He attended Adelphi United Methodist Church.
Robert worked at the A Plant in Piketon, Oh. then went to Chillicothe as a guard at the Federal Reformatory. He finished his work career at Goodyear Plant in Logan as an electrician for 25 years belonging to the I.B.E.W.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Amy Marie (Charles) Powell, Gallipolis: grandson, Dr. Sean F. Gibbs (Dr. Christa M. Velos) Seneca, Il; and like a grandson, Pete Velos, Sleepy Hollow, Il; brother, J. Denny Kitchen (Bill), Circleville; sister-in-laws, Katherine Kitchen and Edmona (Dale) Hartley, both of Chillicothe and several loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Hill Funeral Home, Kingston with Pastor Brian Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Green Summit Cemetery, Adelphi with military honors. Family and friends may call from 6-9 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
