Richard Lee Tuttle
Richard Lee Tuttle, 75, of Chillicothe, passed away on May 14, 2026 at Riverside Methodist Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on April 29, 1951, in Franklin, Indiana, the son of the late Burnice Tuttle and Judy (Moore) Barnhart. On September 3, 1983, he united in marriage with his beloved wife of 42 years, Cathy (Routt) Tuttle, who survives.
Richard is also survived by his children, Jason Tuttle, Jeremy (Kim) Tuttle, Katie Tuttle (Sam Grote), and Elizabeth (Zach) Taylor; grandchildren, Justin (McKenzie) Tuttle, Cody Tuttle, Madison Tuttle, Trevin Tuttle, Kinlee Tuttle, Jayden Tuttle, Jackson Pickerrell, Miles Taylor, and Finn Taylor; great-grandchildren, Chase Tuttle, Amelia Tuttle, and Sante Gutierrez; sister, Pamela Proehl; special caregiver and friend, Jordan Hanners; and numerous other special family members and friends whom he cherished.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his step-mother, June Tuttle; sister, Anita Barnhart; brother, Gordon Barnhart; and grandson, Tristan Tuttle.
Richard attended Southeastern High School and earned an Associate’s Degree in Finance from Southeastern Business College. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1971-1973 and served as an Military Police officer during his service. He retired from the Chillicothe VA Medical Center in 2015 after 42 years of faithful service. Richard was also an avid Ohio State Football fan. He will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston. Memorial contributions may be made in Richard's honor to the Paralyzed Veteran's of America (Buckey Chapter). Condolences can be made on Richard’s online guestbook at www.hillfhkingston.com.
