Richard Lee "Smitty" Smith Richard "Smitty" Smith, 66, of Laurelville, entered Heaven April 22, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born July 4, 1947 to the late Emmet W. and Ellen L. Thimmes Smith. Smitty was a Vietnam Army veteran and retired from Dupont after 41 years of service. Surviving are sons, Travis (Sandy) Smith and Cody J. (Lacey) Smith; brother, Steve (Lynn) Smith; sisters, Diane Runkle, Brenda (Marc) Minehart, Sheila (Sonny) Dean and Sandy (Ty) Hinton; and 6 grandchildren. Richard was also predeceased by his sister, Joyce Elick and brother-in-laws, Bob Elick and George Runkle. Richard was an avid hunter, loving father, and motorcycle enthusiast. Funeral services will be Friday 1 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, Kingston with Pastor Vandagriff officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Summit cemetery.
