Richard Allen Miller

Richard Allen Miller, 69, of Tarlton, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2018 at Adena Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. He was born on November 26, 1948, in Chillicothe, the son of the late James E. and Pauline E. (Rankin) Miller.

Richard is survived by his children, Elizabeth (Matthew) Giroux, of Kingston, and Michael Miller, of Tarlton; step-daughter, Angela (Fred) Stumbo, of Laurelville; lifelong friend and mother of his children, Barbara Miller, of Circleville; grandchild, Maddux Giroux; brother, Donald L. (Teresa) Miller, of Chillicothe; special nieces, Mindy (Dan) Plessinger and Amanda (Chris) Steele; great-nieces and nephews, Oliver, Emilee, Danielle, Benny, Quincey, Riley, and Jocelyn; and numerous other special family members and friends whom he cherished.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Sheri L. Miller.

Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict and was a lifetime member of AMVETS Post 2256, of Circleville. He retired from General Electric, of Circleville, after over 35 years of service. Richard also enjoyed volunteering including helping with the Saltcreek-Tarlton Township Volunteer Fire Department's Toys for Tots fundraiser.

Funeral services with full military honors will be held on Friday, November 30 at 2:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Rev. Greg Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Chillicothe, at a later date. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from noon until the time of the service at Hill's.
