Richard Lee McDonald

Richard Lee McDonald, 76, of Chillicothe, passed away on June 30, 2025 at OSU Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born on October 22, 1948, in South Bend, Indiana, the son of the late Clark McDonald and Norma (Houck) Boyer, who survives. On July 6, 1996, he united in marriage with his beloved wife of almost 29 years, Deborah Ann (Beam) McDonald, who survives.

In addition to his wife and mother, Richard is survived by his children, Joseph McDonald, Angela McDonald, and Renee (Cory) Burns; step-son, Jeremy (Ashton) Conaway; grandchildren, Bryce McDonald, Kodie (Caleb) Burris, Jacie Green, Madison McDonald, Makenzie McDonald, Maci McDonald, Lily Burns, Olivia Burns, and Russell Conaway; siblings, Mick McDonald, Victor Boyer, and Lorrie (Billy) Lacy; sisters-in-law, Jeanie (Charlie) Strong, Pamela Angelo and Susan Beam; numerous other beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins; and numerous other special family members and friends whom he cherished.

In addition to his father, Richard was preceded in death by his son, Justin McDonald; brother, Nick McDonald; brothers-in-law, Dwight Beam, Ronald Beam, and Robert Beam; and sisters-in-law, Deanna Turton and Patricia Beam.

Richard graduated from Clay High School, South Bend, Indiana, and worked as a truck driver for Active USA. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Richard attended First Capital Christian Church and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #600, Chillicothe.

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with military honors provided by the Ross County Veteran's Honor Guard. Burial will take place in Mead Cemetery, Kingston. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 - 7 p.m. at Hill's. In lieu if flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rick's honor to First Capital Christian Church (900 Orange Street, Chillicothe, Ohio 45601).
