Ray Elwood Tatman

Ray Elwood Tatman, 78, of Laurelville, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 27, 1940, in Vinton County, the son of the late Kenneth "Joe" and Ora (Schwalbach) Tatman. On December 31, 1962, he was united in marriage with his loving wife, Rita (Lowery) Tatman, who survives.

Ray is also survived by his children, Randy (Sue) Tatman; Renee (John) Gozy, Raeshell (Matthew) Matney, and Robin (Nicki) Tatman; grandchildren, Zach and Justin Gozy, Tanner and Logan Matney, and Bobbi Nungester; great-grandchild, Dreyden Gozy; siblings, Kenneth (Freddie) Tatman and Audrey Brown; his beloved canine companion, Squirt; and numerous other special family members and friends whom he cherished.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his siblings, Harold Tatman, Alvin Arledge, Paul Henderson, Ronald Tatman, Marjorie Salyers, Janet Hedges, and Marcella "Sally" Parker.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 29 at 11:00 a.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Rev. James Vandagriff officiating. Burial will follow in Green Summit Cemetery, Adelphi. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Hill's.
