Obituary

Peggy Ann Congrove

Peggy Ann Congrove, age 86, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025, at Wyngate Senior Living Community surrounded by family following a brief illness.

Peggy was born on August 1, 1938 to the late Julia E. and Lloyd E. Evans. On March 21, 1958, Peggy married her loving husband of 66 years, Thomas N. Congrove, who survives. She was the youngest of seven Evans children. Preceding her in death was her sister, Nancy E. (Evans) Wright, and brothers, James Foster, Robert Terry, L. David, and William (Bill) A. Evans. She was also predeceased by sisters and brothers-in-law, Beverly Congrove, Judy Congrove, Mary Evans, Gene Wright, and Ned Reichelderfer.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann (Rex) Blake; two sons, Thomas N. (Jacqueline) Congrove II and Stephen M. (Stephanie) Congrove. Peggy and Tom's pride and joy have been their nine grandchildren: Evan (Kristin), Bryant (Harli) and Adam (Jessica) Blake, Tyler (Leah), Tim (Megan), Trent (Denise), and Jill Congrove, Courtney (Bernie) Davis and Rachel (Travis) Hess, and their sixteen great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren, Jessica (Mike) Hood, Megan Bush, Stacey Bush, and Dakota Shaw; twelve great step-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Jean Reichelderfer; sister-in-law, Helen Evans; and brothers-in-law, Glenn E. Congrove and James L. Congrove.

Peg and Tom spent many years enjoying sporting events for their grandchildren from T-ball to college basketball and football games. Peg was a homemaker and retired in 1987 from Pickaway Township School where she cooked in the school cafeteria for years.  She loved cooking, entertaining family, baby sitting and baking pies. On that premise, the Evans Thanksgiving was a favorite time of year for her to share food and fellowship with her loving nieces and nephews and their families.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing and aid staff at Wyngate Senior Living Community; Heartland Hospice/Nurses Frances, Jennette, and Nicole; private caregiver, Becky Antler; and several others for their loving care over the past months, as well as, special friends in the community.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Rev. Barry Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends and family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Hill's. Condolences can be made on Peggy's online guest registry at www.hillfhkingston.com.
