Otis Clary Jr.
Otis Clary Jr., 88, of Laurelville, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026 at OSU Medical Center following an extended illness. Otis was born on July 20, 1938, in Eagle Mills, Vinton County, the son of the late Otis and Audrey Pearline (Tatman) Clary Sr.
Otis is survived by his children, Michael Clary and Brandon Clary; foster children, Charles (Andrea) Reed and Rhonda Reed; grandchildren, Mike Shannon Clary, Mindy Clary Hines, and Tia (Cori) Jones; great-grandchildren, Chelsy (Steve) Withrow, Clayton (Lexi) Clary, Colton (Marie) Phillips, Dylan Hines, Caidence, Alyric, and Kysyn Jones, and Alissia Reed; great-great-grandchild, Peyton Marie Withrow; sister, Sharon (Lundy) Ross; and numerous other special family members and friends whom he cherished.
Along with his parents, Otis was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Charlotte May (Ross) Clary; son, Christopher Wayne Clary; daughter-in-law, Ashley Clary; and brothers, Larry Clary and James Clary.
Otis worked at Paul Mercer Sawmill hauling logs for several years before going on to work for Davis Trucking for around 20 years. Otis worked as a truck driver for Mound and Waste Management Companies for 15 years. He was awarded the “Best Truck Driver Award” through the company for his skills and dedication. Then he worked for KKO trucking for 5 years before enjoying his retirement by spending the days with his wife. Otis was an active grandfather and great-grandfather. He never missed a wrestling meet, baseball/T-Ball, basketball game, and football games. He will be deeply missed.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Community Church (15290 SR-327, Laurelville, OH 43135) with Pastor James Vandagriff officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston.
