Ollen Eldon Swepston
Ollen Eldon Swepston, 82, of Londonderry, entered into Heaven on June 5, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 7, 1941, in Kingston, the son of the late Ollen Edgar and Opal C. (Dawson) Swepston. On October 15, 1961, he was united in marriage with his loving wife and sweetheart, Linda M. (Owens) Swepston, who preceded him in death on March 3, 2024.
Ollen is survived by his beloved children, Heidi (Randy) Seitz, of Londonderry, Faith (David) Swackhammer, of Jackson, and Dwane E. Swepston, of Kingston; grandchildren whom he adored, Kaci (Chris) Mavis, Evan (Olivia) Seitz, Tyler (Jessica) Swackhammer, Brandon (Sarah) Swepston, and Holly (Jared) McLeland; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jayden and Jaxon Swackhammer, Cain and Khloe Mavis, Grahm Swepston, and Annie Mae Seitz; and numerous other special family members and friends whom he cherished.
In addition to his parents and wife, Ollen was preceded in death by his brothers, Lowell Swepston, Malvin Swepston, Wayne "Pete" Swepston, and Robert Swepston; sister, Wanda Delong; and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Swepston.
Ollen was a 1959 graduate of Centralia High School and retired from Dupont of Circleville after over 39 years of service. Growing up on his family's farm, agriculture was an important part of his early life. Ollen was a member of Brookside Church, served as a 4-H advisor for many years, and worked as a substitute bus driver for Zane Trace Local Schools for many years.. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his wife and family and traveling with those he loved including exploring the Grand Canyon by mule twice.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Ollen's care team that provided extraordinary service during his illness including Adena Hospice, Dr. Seidensticker, Bill, and Chip, Kaci Mavis, Autumn, Vicki R., Vicki D., Carrie, Carla, Shelley Kutschbach, Ginger, Deneda, Cameron, and Andrea Davis.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Rev. Jack Norman and Rev. James Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Green Summit Cemetery, Adelphi. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 - 8 p.m. at Hill's.
