Myrtle Pennington Beavers
Myrtle Pennington Beavers, 94, of Kingston, passed away on Thursday April 2, 2015 at approximately 11:30 a.m. at National Church Residences of Chillicothe, Ohio.
Myrtle was born Sept 18, 1920 in Lawrence County, Ky., the daughter of Oscar and Virgie (Cooksey) Pennington. On April 30, 1939, she married Howard Raymond Beavers in Russell, Ky.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband, 11 brothers and sisters, son-in-law Jack (Doc) Stewart and a great grandson Nathan Scott Carmean.
Surviving are sons, Howard William (Betsy), of Chillicothe, Gary Lee (Mary Lee) and Steven Edwin (Cassie), of Kingston; daughters, Carol Ann (Phil) Miller and Lois Faye (Ralph) Wiseman, both of Kingston; 12 grandchildren, Bill (Niska), Tim, Rick, Dennis, Geoff, Megan (Ryan) and Jacob Beavers, Dan (Mitzi) Carmean, Nicole (Robert) Vinburg, Kami (Dan) Gilmore, Bill (Misty) Stewart, and Josh (Amber) Stewart; 13 great-grandchildren, Marcus, Alec, Brooklynn and Abigail Beavers, David, Bethany (Kyle), Nick, and Justin Gilmore, Lilly, Ally, and Jack Stewart, Brendan Carmean, and Mitchell Vinburg, with another great granddaughter due in August ; 1 great-great-granddaughter, Haydan Faye Jackson; numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Clarence Donahue, of Chillicothe, and sister-in-law, Margie Beavers, of Kingston.
Myrtle was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed the simple things in life, her home and family.
She was well known for her fried chicken and homemade noodles. Her pies were the first to go at every gathering. She loved watching sports on television, especially the Cincinnati Reds and would watch anything pertaining to country music.
Myrtle will be deeply missed by all her family.
Private funeral services will be at the Hill Funeral Home, Kingston with Barry Bennett officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. An online registry is available at www.hillfhkingston.com.
