Mary Lou (Steel) Lehman
Mary Lou (Steel) Lehman, 82, of Laurelville, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2018, in Logan, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 27, 1936, in Laurelville, the daughter of the late Oakley and Bessie (Weaver) Steel.
She is survived by her children, Teresa (Mike) Smith, of Laurelville, Mike (Kathy) Butts, of Laurelville, Tom Butts, of Columbus, and Troy Lehman, of Logan; sister, Donna Hanes, of Stoutsville; grandchildren, Joni Baker, Jesse Smith, Jeff Butts, Stephanie Renner, Amanda Renner, T.J. Butts, and Samantha Lehman; great- grandchildren, Lane, Rian, Jack, Dean, Dawson, Kaiden, and Jaiden; and numerous other special family members and friends whom she cherished.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, John, Robert and Glenn Steel, Sharon Goode, JoAnn Lutz, Betty Lowery, and Marilyn Steel.
Mary was a 1954 graduate of Laurelville High School and retired from Selkirk Metalbestos, in Logan, in 1999 after 25 years of service. Mary will be remembered for her great love and natural talent for music. She was a locally renown pianist/organist as she shared her gift often during wedding ceremonies. Music was truly a lifelong passion of hers.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Mary's honor on Sunday, November 4 from 2 – 5 p.m. at the Laurelville Senior Center (16184 Maple St. Laurelville, OH 43135). In accordance with Mary's wishes, cremation has been observed. She will be interred with her family in Green Summit Cemetery.
