Mary Lou (Ritchie) Edler

Mary Lou (Ritchie) Edler, 85, of Chillicothe, entered into Heaven on November 7, 2024 at Wyngate Senior Living, Circleville, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on May 13, 1939, in Chillicothe, the daughter of the late Orval and Mandy (Stidham) Ritchie. On March 20, 1959, she united in marriage with her beloved husband, Robert L. Edler, who preceded her in death on March 13, 2020.

Mary Lou is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Kelly) Irwin, of Kingston; grandchildren, Andrew (Ashley) Davis and Christopher (Samantha) Davis; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Jocelyn, Lucas, Lydia, and Cannon; sister, Betty Lemaster, of Chillicothe; twin brother, Donald Ritchie, of Circleville; and a loving family of friends and caregivers at The Wyngate Senior Living Community.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her brothers, James Allen and Stanley Ritchie; and great-grandson, Gabriel Davis.

Mary Lou was a 1957 graduate of Centralia High School and started her working career at Gallaugher's Drug Store and the VA Medical Center Canteen. She was hired in 1967 as the Superintendent's Secretary at Zane Trace Local School District and also worked as Transportation Director before retiring from both positions in 1997. She quickly returned to work in 1998 as secretary in the nursing center at Pickaway Ross CTC until her retirement in 2012. Mary Lou was an faithful member of the Bridge Street Church of Christ for many years.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 12 at 12:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Rev. Barry Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Kingston. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Hill's.
