Mary Mae (Edler) Phillips
Mary Mae (Edler) Phillips, 87, of Kingston, passed from her earthly home into her heavenly home on July 7, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 16, 1930, to the late Charles W. and Bernice (Whitten) Edler. She was united in marriage to Carl George Phillips on July 28, 1950, who preceded her in death on November 12, 1998.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Peggy (Mike) Barnes, of Kingston; sons, C. Stephen (Rebecca) Phillips, of Kingston, G. William (Brenda) Phillips, of Amanda, and Ronald A. (Nancy) Phillips, of Kingston; grandchildren, Angela Thomas, Jeremiah (Erin) Phillips, Ryan (Jessica) Phillips, Nicholas (Elizabeth) Phillips, Brandy (Donny) VanCuren, Jessica Phillips and fiancé, Shane Merriman, Jennifer (Nate) Jenkins, and Rob Thomas; great-grandchildren, Robert (Bobby) Thomas, Lychelle Thomas and friend, Tyler Smittle, Chris Thomas and fiancé, Emilee Allen, Daley and Ryder VanCuren, Brayden and Blake Phillips, Cameron Phillips, Maelee Jenkins, and Willow Merriman; a great-great-grandchild expected on December 18, 2018; sister, Betty Hoffman; sister-in-law, Pat Edler; many special nieces and nephews; and special friend, Agnes Streitenberger.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul and Sherman Edler; sister-in-laws, Mary E. Edler and Margaret Phillips; brother-in-laws, Donald Hoffman and Forrest Phillips; and grandson, Christopher Barnes.
Mary graduated in 1948 from Kingston Union High School as Valedictorian and retired from Zane Trace Schools with 32 years of service. Mary was a member of the Green Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and Kingston United Methodist Church. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 12 at 11:00 a.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Pastor Jammie Wilhelm officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m. at Hill's.
