Mary E. Kempton

Mary E. (Carter) Kempton, 66, of Laurelville, went home to be with the Lord on March 17, 2015 at her residence.  She was born on July 13, 1948, the daughter of the late Vern C. and Betty J. (Smith) Carter. She was also predeceased by her sister, Carolyn Grubb.

Surviving are her husband, Teddy V. Kempton; daughter, Rachel A. (Herb) Fitchpatrick; son, Nicholas A. (Jennifer) Kempton; step-sons, Brian E. (Nadine) Kempton, Kevin K. (Deloris) Kempton, and Rodney L. Kempton; six grandchildren, Michelle, Perez, Seth and Jessica Unger, Maria Fitchpatrick, and Gadsden and Presley Kempton; nine step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, four step-great grandchildren; five brothers, Neil (Sharon), Bill (Sandy), Dale (Ann), Rick (Kathy) and Barney Carter; four sisters, Nancy Speakman, Becky (Wayne) Conrad, Jackie Crabtree and Elizabeth (Dan) Vangundy; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Hill Funeral Home with Pastor John Burris.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.  Friends may call at Hill's Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
