Martha "Marty" Marie Sharrett, age 85, long time resident of Gallipolis, was called home on September 1, 2022 to be with her Lord and Savior. Born July 20, 1937, Martha was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mildred Ballou; brother, Paul Ballou; son, John Wilson; daughter, Rhonda Sharrett; son, Raine Sharrett; and great-grandson, Tristen Dutiel.

Martha is survived by her children, Lynne (James) Zimmer, Marysville, OH; Lisa (Larry) Shaub, Gahanna, OH; Laurel (Randy) Pullins, Jackson, GA; Regan (Kathy) Sharrett, Gallipolis, OH; Robin (Mary) Sharrett, Reynoldsburg, OH; Reed (Vicki) Sharrett, Cincinnati, OH; Renard (Amy) Sharrett, Selma, NC; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and, of course, her lovable dog, Elmer.

Martha was a member of the New Hope Bible Baptist Church. Her faith in God was her mainstay in later years and helped her weather the many health trials and tribulations that she bore. Martha was an avid gardener blessed with the ability to make any plant thrive. She loved cooking and baking for her family and friends and passing on recipes for all to enjoy.

She will be dearly missed by her family, close friends, and neighbors who will cherish the many memories of our time together until we are reunited in the presence of our Lord.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston, with Pastor Dean Warner officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Methodist Church Cemetery, Kingston, OH. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Hills.
