Marjorie Maxine (Cobb) Beavers
Marjorie Maxine (Cobb) Beavers, 92, of Kingston, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 3, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born the daughter of the late John and Mabel (McCann) Cobb in Lewis County, Kentucky on November 27, 1923. On September 17, 1942, she married her husband, Richard Beavers, who preceded her in death in 1995.
She is survived by daughter, Jeanne (Barry) Bennett, of Kingston; grandsons, Jonathan (Carmel) Bennett, of Circleville, and David (Jennifer) Bennett, of Lancaster; and great-granddaughters, Brianna Gillespie, Grace Bennett, and Elizabeth Bennett.
She was also preceded in death by son, Ricky Beavers; sisters, Virginia Lanier, Pauline Cummins, Margaret Phillips, and Edna Routt; and best friend, Phyllis Donahue.
She was a faithful member of Kingston United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She enjoyed writing poems and short stories. In 2012, she published a book of her writings in conjunction with her grandsons entitled Cedar Grove and Other Memories: The Collected Works of Marjorie Beavers . The collection contains many wonderful stories and poems that reflect life in small town southern Ohio. If interested, the book may be ordered through amazon.com.
She lived her final months at National Church Residences of Chillicothe where she enjoyed making new friends, playing bingo, and listening to gospel groups. Her family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the Heritage at National Church Residences and to Adena Hospice for their outstanding care. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Adena Health System (2077 Western Ave, Chillicothe, OH 45601).
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 7 at 2:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Rev. Barry Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
