Margaret H. Cryder Margaret H. Cryder, 81, of Hallsville, Ohio, passed away August 10, 2012 at Pickaway Manor after a courageous several month battle with cancer. Margaret was born October 11, 1930 as one of seven children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Ada (Hough) Cryder; sisters, Martha (Cryder) Mathew and Mary Cryder; and brothers, Eugene Cryder and Louis Earl Cryder. She is survived by brother, John Cryder (Joliet, Illinois) and sister, Helen (Cryder) Joseph (Mt. Vernon, Ohio). Margaret was proud of telling others that she had 19 nieces and nephews, many of whom are now grandparents. Margaret was a graduate of Centralia (Zane Trace) High School and The Ohio State University. She worked for 38 years as a Dietician in Columbus, starting at White Cross Hospital, which later became Riverside Hospital. Margaret had been extremely active in community organizations, to include: co-adviser to the Hallsville Friendly Neighbors 4-H club; the Hallsville Community Center; a 50-year member of The Eastern Star; Grange; and numerous other civic, social, and professional groups. She was often seen out volunteering her time with these organizations, and was a ready resource on the history of the families and events of the Hallsville area. Funeral service will be on Tuesday August 14, at 11 a.m. at Hill Funeral Home in Kingston with visitation starting at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the Hallsville Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be on Monday August 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hill's with an Eastern Star service at 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Berger Hospice or to the Hallsville Community Center.
