IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lois Marie
(Roark) Hinton
May 27, 1952 – June 23, 2016
Lois Marie (Roark) Hinton
Lois Marie (Roark) Hinton, 64, of Kingston, went to be with the Lord on June 23, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on May 27, 1952, the daughter of the late Vinco "Van" and Alberta "Bertie" (Franklin) Roark. On July 6, 1973, she married her highschool sweetheart and loving husband of 43 years, Ron Hinton, who survives.
She is also survived by daughters, Robin (Ben) and Hollie (Louis), and, grandchildren, Rylee, Desmon, Derek and Myles.
Rather than mourn her passing, she wished for us to celebrate her life. Lois worked for a time at RCA in Circleville before eventually opening an adult care home in Chillicothe for disabled veterans. She took great pride in the care home. No one worked harder to make the Hinton Adult Care Facility a place known for its warm, fun and caring environment. Lois was, at heart, an entrepreneur who was creative, determined, and deeply patriotic - a true steel magnolia.
Lois was known for her compassion, strength, generosity, and faith "as solid as a rock". Lois enjoyed doing word search puzzles, fishing, dancing, storytelling, wearing hats, and sitting on her porch on a rainy day. She was deeply gratified by making others happy and being generous with those less fortunate. She loved lilac flowers, the sound of wind chimes, watching horses graze in the pasture, the board game Aggravation-- and watching Golden Girls, the Reba show, and The Waltons. She was known for her simple, yet unique recipes such as Banana Flip, Sweet Tea, Thanksgiving Stuffing, and one-of-a-kind homemade popcorn. Lois rejoiced in spending time with her family, especially on long summer afternoons.
She is being greeted in Heaven by siblings Carl "Buddy", Van Jr., Loretta, and Betty Joyce. She is survived by siblings Helen, Barbara, Wilma, Lucy, Larry and Ronnie, along with numerous aunts, uncles and extended family members. Please join us in joyfully remembering and celebrating Lois.
Friends may call at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, (24 W. Ing St., Kingston) on Sunday, June 26 to celebrate Lois' life from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 27 at 10:00 a.m. at Faith Fellowship Church (28840 Logan Elm Rd., Circleville) with Pastor Ken Roark Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Amanda Cemetery. For those who would like to consider a charitable donation in lieu of flowers, please consider Faith Fellowship Church or Water For Life.
