Linda Sue (Beglin) Shoemaker

Linda Sue (Beglin) Shoemaker, 85, of Kingston, passed away on November 11, 2025 surrounded by family. She was born on July 31, 1940, in Laurelville, in the same home where generations of her family were born, the daughter of the late Albert and Pauline (Karshner) Beglin. On September 9, 1962, she united in marriage with her beloved husband, Robert E. Shoemaker Sr., who preceded her in death in 1995.

Linda is survived by her beloved children, Jodi (Ted) Pierce, of Waverly, and Robert Shoemaker Jr., of Kingston; grandchildren who were very dear to her heart, Jerrod Rife and Teela Pierce-Woofter; 2 special great-grandchildren, Faye Lyn and Pierce Michael Woofter; sister, Deborah Wright; nephews, Jamie (Angie) Beglin and Jeff Beglin; niece, Julie Fannin; several great-nieces and nephews; several great-great-nieces and nephews; and numerous other family members and friends whom she cherished.

In addition to her parents and husband, Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Keith Beglin; infant sister, Nancy; her very special grandparents, Guy and Mattie Karshner; and mother-in-law and best friend, Dorothy Shoemaker.

Linda was a 1958 graduate of Laurelville High School. After attending beauty school, she owned and operated her own beauty salon in Kingston for 36 years. In their earlier years, Robert Sr. and Linda loved spending their time between going to drag strips and oval tracks. Later, Linda loved taking her grandchildren on vacations, shopping, and just spending time with them. She also enjoyed going on bus trips with senior citizens and she especially loved the Pumpkin Show!

Memorial Services will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at Hill's. Burial will take place in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Kingston, at the convenience of the family.
