Lawrence Kerns Lawrence H. (Toots) Kerns passed away Friday, January 6, 2012 at the OSU Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born June 5, 1937, in Ross County, to the late Cyrus H. and Dovie (White) Kerns. Toots is survived by his wife Carole Kerns; son, Andrew Kerns and, fiancé, Leslie Phillips; brother, Cyrus E. (Mary Jo) Kerns; sister, Leora Birge; numerous nieces and nephews; and many special friends. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. He retired as a millwright in 1998 from the Mead Corporation. A memorial service will be held at Hill Funeral Home Thursday, January 12 at 7:00 P.M. Calling hours will not be observed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
