Pastor Larry Junior Leasure

Pastor Larry Junior Leasure, 84, of Chillicothe, entered into Heaven on April 26, 2025 at Adena Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born on May 13, 1940, in Chillicothe, the son of the late Wesley and Thelma (Thomas) Leasure. On August 12, 1961, he was united in marriage with his beloved wife of 63 years, Phyllis (Sullivan) Leasure, who survives.

Larry is also survived by his children, Larry L. (Tammy) Leasure, James M. (Lisa) Leasure, and Mark H. (Mary) Leasure; grandchildren, Larry L. (Cheryl) Leasure Jr., Anthony James (Brittany) Leasure, Sarah Ann Leasure, James M. Leasure Jr., Mark (Allison) Leasure II, Brandi Dawn (Brian) Ratcliff, and Jacob (Amber) Leasure; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, John Leasure, Joann Christman, Kay Leasure, Wendell (Janet) Leasure, and Danny Leasure; and numerous other family members and friends whom he cherished.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his infant son, Wesley Leasure, and siblings, Earl Leasure, Bart Leasure, Rose Conrad, Iola Bevins, Glen Leasure, Agnes Knell, Dorothy Reynolds, and two infant siblings.

Larry worked at US Shoe Factory of Chillicothe for about 15 years before he went into business for himself selling firewood. Larry followed the call into ministry and has been a local pastor for around 60 years touching countless lives. Larry also blessed people with Christian music and recorded numerous original songs he used to minister to others. He will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 3 at 1:00 p.m. at Sugar Run Church (1680 Sugar Run Road, Chillicothe, OH 45601) with Pastor John Rhoades and Deacon Al Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 - 7 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston.
