Josephine (VanFossen) Primmer

Josephine (VanFossen) Primmer, 76, of Tarlton, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family following an extended illness. She was born on September 29, 1947, in Circleville, the daughter of the late Luther and Dorothy Rosa (Chilcothe) VanFossen. On September 21, 1968, she united in marriage with her loving husband, Richard Primmer, who survives.

She is also survived by her children, Katherine Emerson and Adam Primmer; grandson, Cody Emerson; great-grandson, Carter Emerson; sisters, Linda Carroll, Carolyn VanFossen, and Patty Paris; beloved cat, Angel; and numerous other special family members and friends whom she cherished.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Brian Emerson; and sisters, Donna Cain and Evelyn VanFossen.

Josephine was a 1967 graduate of Logan Elm High School and retired from Anchor Hocking Glassware of Lancaster after around 20 years of service. She was an avid animal lover and loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed playing board games/cards and was well known for being very competitive. Josephine had a love for the ocean and traveled to Myrtle Beach many times.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, July 2 at 7:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Hill's. Condolences and floral gifts can be made on Josephine's online guest registry at www.hillfhkingston.com.
