John Larry Hertenstein

John Larry Hertenstein, 52, of Chillicothe, went to be with our Lord on June 27, 2017 unexpectedly at his residence.  He was born, in Chillicothe, on February 1, 1965, the son of the late Donald Hertenstein and Cecilia (Robinette) Hertenstein, who survives.  On December 1, 2001, he united in marriage with his loving wife, Patricia (Rockwell) Hertenstien, who survives.

John is also survived by his loving children, Alicia (Zach) Wilson, of Chillicothe, Ross Hertenstein, of Chillicothe; Stephanie (Justin) Medley, of Zanesville, Marty (Katie) Schneider, of Nashport, and Jennifer (Chuck) Lombardy, of Avon; grandchildren, Alexis, Madison, Jocelyn, Emma, Nicholas, Arthur, Brynlea, Isabella, Charlie, Aria, Sophia, and Cason; sisters, Becky (Jody) Wilson and Alice Hertenstein; mother-in-law, Rev. Sandra Rockwell; and John was a special Da to Kylie and Kaleb.

He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Arthur Rockwell.

John was a 1983 graduate of Zane Trace High School. John was a corrections officer for the State of Ohio and a longtime farmer. However, his favorite title was father and grandfather as he thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 1 at 11:00 a.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Rev. Sandra Rockwell officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
